BuildMyRank Shuts Down Their Link Network

In a surprising move, today we discovered that the extremely popular link building networkBuildMyRank is closing down their service. The move comes after BMR noticed a great deal of their network sites were being de-indexed from Google and the search results, which then greatly impacted the quality of their service.
You can read a partial statement from their full post below:
On a daily basis, we monitor our domain network to check metrics like page rank, indexed pages, etc. As with any link-building network, some de-indexing activity is expected and ours has been within a permissible range for the past two years. Unfortunately, this morning, our scripts and manual checks have determined that the overwhelming majority of our network has been de-indexed (by Google), as of March 19, 2012. In our wildest dreams, there’s no way we could have imagined this happening.
It had always been BMR’s philosophy that if we did things a bit different from other networks, we would not only have a better quality service to offer our users, but a longer life in this fickle industry. Sadly, it appears this was not the case.
What we can learn from this is that Google is actively doing what they can to take out any sites and networks that are focused on selling backlinks. While there are still plenty of other solutions out there, BMR was one of the biggest services out there and will affect thousands of accounts and customers.
It will be interesting to see where they go next, along with what new services will thrive from the BMR customer overflow looking for a new solution.

Three Things You Need To Know About Keywords

There’s so much going on these days when it comes to all the different ways that you can make money on the Internet it’s easy to forget there are some foundations you need to stay on top of so your all of your efforts stay afloat. In other words, it’s easy to get lost in planning for the most elaborate mobile app that will  bring your business to a new set of users and forget about making sure your keywords are in good shape.
You might have forgotten about solid seo techniques will all the new techniques to get paid through your mobile phone, but the website is still ground zero for all of your ecommerce business efforts and Content is Still King. That means you should always be ready to refresh on good keywording  and here are three solid tips.
  1. Know your market. You need to make some fundamental decisions when you’re putting together an Internet based business and the first is to know your market because that will affect the kind of keywords that you use. The technique is called geographic tagging and by putting a place name somewhere before or after the keyword itself, you gear your efforts to a specific area.
  2. Wrap good content around those keywords. It doesn’t matter how well you learn your lessons about seo if you cant follow through when it matters most. Having the right keywords with the proper links wont matter if there’s not a professional product waiting at the other end of all that work and great content is one of the things you cant skimp on. Nine seconds. That’s usually all you’ve got to keep someone on your site no matter how good the seo is. Excellent content is just as important as the right keyword when you’re trying to get visitors to convert.
  3. Use the right links. Whether you’re using internal links that bounce around your website or ones that are reciprocal, use links with the keywords to add to the overall seo punch. Remember that if you’re trying to get external links as part of an overall link campaign, choose only respectable sites so you don’t get penalized.
Remember that regardless of the techniques you use to make money on the Internet, the old standbys like keywords are still one of the anchors that will get you the exposure you need to make any online business a success.
